Reasons for not blogging

1. My computer is not connected to the internet (Have to borrow laptops with wireless connection)
2. Getting school ready for next year( making portfolios, keeping records, ordering new books.)
3.Home got bedbugs
4.Pack everything we own into bags
4.Infumigating our house
5.Preparing things for a kids camp
6.Hosting the kids camp
7.Unpacking everything we own and setting up our house again

Things I'm thankful for:
1. That I have a computer (even though it's old and slow)
2. I have friends who let me use their computers to check my mail
3.Our house doesn't have termites
4. I have things I can pack into bags
5.We don't have to be the ones spraying our house
6.The kids camp went so well
7. That I have the strength to unpack and clean our house

I'll try to post about the Kids camp we just had. It was a lot of fun and there are lots of pictures to see. So pray I can fit in the time to do that.

Canada Day

July 1st was Canada day and our home decided on all going to a local park to have a picnic and watch the fireworks. I was busy cooking in the kitchen making turkey sandwiches for everyone as others tried to figure out which park would be the best to go too. Finally we were off, I couldn't take the camera with me so we took some photos at the house before we left. Most of us dressed in red and white, it was so cute. We found a place to eat then the kids took of to play at the near by play area. There were so many people there though and it was a mom's worse nightmare just trying to keep an eye on your kids. I actually lost Devin for about 3 min. which to me seemed like a life time in that crowd. As he had run off in a split second to go see his friends. It's a feeling I don't care to experience again. But thank god there were no more instances like that. We bumped into my family there which was great and we took the kids to the small carnival that they had there in the back and some of the kids got to go on the jumping balloons and other fun stuff. Time went by fast and before we knew it they were starting the firework show. So Mike, Devin, me and a few others went rushing through the mass of people sprawled out over the park to get to our spot. Some hands were squished and people bumped into during the process but we made it back in time to lie down on the blanket and enjoy the show. Lots of fun! Lots of work...but enjoyable in the end!

Another year older! 27

A special thank you to Mike for making my birthday so special. I had a real good time and the sushi was great! Thank you to all my friends who came and everyone that wrote me and wished me a happy birthday! Love you all so much! I pray this year will be filled with laughter, fun and good health.

I'm still here

Hi everyone.  I just got back from the hospital where I spent 4 days getting my strength back. I'm now back home safe and sound with family and friends and I feel good. I'm doing better and just need to build up my strength. I want to thank everyone for their support, love and prayers for me during this difficult time. I feel so unworthy of your love and just want to thank you with all my heart. You mean the world to me. I truly am blessed.

Happy Mother's and a Happy Birthday!

I haven't been able to blog much so I missed wishing Mom and wonderful Mother's day. I was able to get up and go see her though yesterday with Devin for my brother Jamie's 13th birthday. I got my mom a pretty vase with big white daisies for the middle (her favorite) and Devin had got Jamie a bug collecting kit for his birthday. We had dinner together and then Jamie blew out his candles on his blueberry pie (I could see him counting them to make sure they were all there). Then there was presents and lots of yummy ice cream and pie of everyone. We then all enjoyed playing Jamie's favorite game "Alien" or Mafia to some. I gotta say too that playing with Simon is something everyone must try once, he makes it so fun. It was getting a little late for me by then and I wasn't feeling good so we left shortly after. I'm glad my family is near by so I can visit them often. Also I hear my sister and Dan are coming down to visit this week! Yeay! Just wish I was feeling better.

Needed prayer

I'm so excited! My family has finally arrived! My mom came by today with the kids and I was being all squeaky and jumping up and down for joy. It was just so good to see them again. I missed them so much. Simon was still resting from their long 4 day drive up so I can understand why he didn't come to visit, but don't worry I'll get to give you a big squeeze soon dad, ha! My family means so much to me. They've been there through thick and thin and help me in my darkest hours. I owe a lot to them in every way and I'm just thrilled that there close by so I can spend some quality time with them. So beware guys, I might come and invade your house from time to time. Love YOU! xoxox

Good times

Had some friends over the other night. It was mainly to hang out and talk but then as we put some music on it turned into a get up and shake that thing night, ha! It was fun and I believe everyone enjoyed themselves with all dance, at least I hope they did. I tried the straight hair look that night, most liked it, some didn't. I liked it because it was something different. Here's a picture of me and cute Lani. Your such a sweetheart girl, and my brother is a lucky guy ;-) It was great seeing you again. 8th Anniversary

I know, it's been way to long. These things do happen though. Change comes into your life and things get turned inside out and upside down that there is just no time to blog. It's so sad but true. I have had so much I wanted to blog about lately but haven't had the time to. Like it was our 8th Anniversary's on the 27th of March and I didn't post anything, which I feel real bad about. I'll have to make up for it by making a nice post for Mike, then we had a Easter hunt and egg painting with the kiddos, which I'll post pictures of soon. So anyways I need to be going to bed now and will try to write again soon!

New family moving in

I know it's been awhile since I've posted, sorry for the neglect. But FYI I'm doing a lot better it's just been crazy busy around here. Lots of changes happening, new family moving in, one moving out :-( so there's lots of emotions flying around. I've just been trying to keep my mind focused on the kids and basic running of the home but a lot of things are up in the air. I am having some fun though. It's March break and I'm going to be taking the kids to our local library where they'll have a jugging show for the kids, some of the other libraries had some events happening for kids this week too but I was late in getting the free tickets, bummer! So if you have kids you should check out the libraries in your area and see what they're doing for the kids this week. I also found out some of the malls are hosting events as well so you might want to check that out too if you want to get your kids out and do something fun with them. I believe they might charge a small fee but it would be worth it and great for your kids school portfolios. Well here's some pictures of all the snow we just got a few days ago. It was crazy, we thought we were getting warmer weather and then comes in this snow storm that lasted all night and day and just kept piling up. So on Sunday we all went outside to shovel our driveway and sidewalk while the kids all played in the snow and built snow mountains. Some of the kids even buried each other in the snow... lots of fun. I also got to enjoy some kid fun yesterday as I took the teens out to a near by park and made snow forts and had a snow fight, it was quite exciting so say the least, something I haven't done in years. It's great to pretend to be a kid again and run through the snow and fall down and make snow angels and have snow fights...good times, good times!

In bed

Last week I came down with a cold/flu thingy and haven't quite fully recovered. I'd be in bed for a bed and then try to get up the next day and work and just ended up being in bed the next day. So that's where I am now. Mike's forbidden me to get up till I am fully recovered! I tend to want to work to much that I don't think of my health so I need him there to help me get my rest. I know I should know better  :-)

Super bowl Sunday

Was a good day! We were invited to go sledding with Steve and Abi and meet up with another couple at the park. Devin had lots of fun and so did I! Abi challenged Celeste and I to a race down the hill, sad to say I started off pretty bad, couldn't get my sled moving so Abi beat us down but as soon as I got going I managed to glide past both of them! Then there were some snowball fights and the kids found this hill that someone had dug a tunnel through so that kept the kids entertained for awhile. I actually have some good photos, just need to download them to the computer. After coming home Mike provisioned some pizzas and we picked up the guys drove downtown Toronto to get some Chinese take out that apparently is good and at a great price. Then we headed to a friends house who had so kindly invited all the guys to come watch to game on his big 50'in plasma screen TV....sweet!  I must say the game was slow in starting but the last minute there was pretty intense. Some sad faces in the end but I'm glad the under dogs won. Sorry Patriot fans :-(
Well tomorrow is my day off,  I have a birthday party I'll be helping out with,I need to get some games together for that as well. So I'm off to bed to get some shut eye.  Be happy and health!!!!

RIP Grandma

I've been home since the 28th but have not had the time to post! We had a good trip and it was great to see my mom and sister again. We arrived late at night in Montreal for my grandma's Wake and saw all my French relatives again. Feeling a bit out of place and awkward as everyone is chattering in French, at least I had Christina to talk to. My mom was happy to see one of her brothers she hasn't seen in years but then came the hard part of seeing my grandma laying there....it was an opened casket, just what my mom didn't want. It just makes things so much harder. Mom was brave but as they began to talk about my grandma's life the tears began to flow, it was so hard to see my mom so sad, Christina and I began to cry. The next day wasn't any better as we sat there again in the same hall to look once more at the cold, peaceful face of grandma before they closed the casket. Why do they have to make it so sorrowful, it was torture to have to stand there and see her like that. Don't get me wrong, my Uncle did a good job of organizing everything and there was beautiful flowers everywhere and they past out this stickers with her face on it that everyone wore on their shirts and they even had candles and key chains to pass out. It's just that that side of my family is all very Catholic and everything was done just so. We all drove to a church where we experienced a very traditional Catholic service....in French...which last a good hour or so. That defiantly gave me time to think about life and death and how I would never want my funeral to be that way. I want people to celebrate my life not morn my death. Talking about this with some friends later on they also agreed and one even wanted to have people come and take shots by her coffin which I thought would be a cool idea ha! Anyways, I don't like talking about death. We took some photos afterwards with some of our cousins and Uncles. It seem to have been that Christina and I were a object of attention as we were the only ones that didn't speak French and just a lot different then the rest of our family so we would be standing there and people kept hoping in the middle between us taking photos, it was rather embarrassing and amusing at the same time. I didn't get any of the photos but I'm hoping one of my cousins will send them to me.
Later that night after we traveled 3 hours back to Kingston, Christina invited me to her bowling bonanza birthday celebration. I had a lot of fun meeting her friends and bowled pretty good considering I haven't bowled in 4 years. I beat all the girls and even a few of the guys coming in at third place! It was nice to get out and have a good time after all the sadness from the day before. Moms back home and I've been busy getting caught up with home life. But after attending a funeral it sure makes you cherish your family and friends and gives you a renewed outlook on life.

Trip to the eye doctor

Today I took Devin to his first eye check up. He was so nervous at first saying that he was scared and didn't want to go. But after talking to him about what he could expect and that he didn't need to worry he was ok. The check up went good, Devin has a very good right eye but the left is a little weak and sometimes things are blurry for him if the right eye is covered, but it's not to bad where the doctor felt he needed glasses, so that good. I just need to take him back in September to make sure it's not getting worse. In the end Devin was very good and got a cool spiderman sticker which he was quite happy about!

Now I'll be off for awhile as my mom's flying up here tomorrow 'cause my dear old French grandma just died and we'll be attending the funeral in Montreal. Of course I'm a bit sad but I didn't really know her that well and she was not in very good health so I know she's a lot happier now! But I am happy that I'll be able to see my mom again and my sister Christina will be joining us as well. So something good is coming out of this sad time. I will write when I get back!
