To my Husband

After all these years together, one important thing I've learned is that love is a whole lot more then flowers and candlelight.....
Love is sticking together during those times when you're short on money, patience, and confidence. It's sacrificing something you want for something the family needs, and always being willing to listen.
We've been through so much together, and yet we've always emerged closer and stronger than before. I don't know if I could have made it through this last year without you by my side.
You're my love and my friend. No matter what life holds in store, I know I can handle it as long as I have you by my side.
With all my love....Happy Birthday!

Have a wonderful 25th Birthday!

marieanne.

Well hi , I am not really supposed to be on here but hey, I get to sneak on once in awhile ha, Marieanne's birthday was on Thursday and so little does she know I wanted to write this for her,I love her more than I ever have and over this last year I have seen her battle long and hard as the difficulties have mounted and I have gained a great respect and love for her as she has kept going on through it all , she has transform from a princess to a queen , one who no matter the fight , the pain or the difficulty , has risen up to fight and win .I wish everyone of you could see and experience the beauty of a soul who truly has been squeezed, tried and come to the end and came out so beautiful as she has . having the privileged to fight beside her and witness the love , lessons and beauty that the lord has brought about in her has made me love and respect her more, before she was beautiful in the flesh( not that she isn't now)and now she is truly gorgeous in spirit. I thank the Lord for allowing me this privilege of  being with her. so on your birthday I want to say thank you marieanne , for being with me for showing me that our life and love is worth any sacrifice , and for showing me your beauty without ever complaining or giving up, most of all thank you for being you. May this year bring the love , happiness and blessings you desire. may all the love and beauty of life be yours. Forever Mike

Birthday pictures

Well, it was a sweet and simple evening. Everyone made me feel very loved. My mom made a "special" kind of blueberry cake that I was able to eat...very good, and Mike got me some very yummy organic strawberry ice cream. He also made a cake for the rest of the family and got pizza for everyone while I enjoyed a Salmon fillet that my mom baked for me. Then came presents and all 101 cards that my younger bro. and sister's made, I was very touched! A little later Mike organized some games that we played with everyone (sorry no pictures of that) So thanks guys for the enjoyable day!

Today is the day

Well, it's here.....that time of year again....yep it's my birthday. Time sure does fly! It seems only yesterday that I was in California enjoy a wonderful evening with some of my best girl friends, having a very yummy dinner that dear Mike made (we all still remember that hun!) watching a movie and just enjoying each others company. Thanks to all of you who made that birthday a special one. This year will be more low key sad to say as we don't live around many friends. But Mike always knows how to make this day special for me and the kids here are so sweet that I'm sure it will still be a great day to remember. I'll post more when the day is over and I have some pictures. Cheers!

A Special Day!

This Morning the kids woke up all excited about the day, they have been waiting for this day all week...."It's Father's Day!" they tell me as I stumble out of my room for some morning tea. They are all busy in the kitchen making a special father's day breakfast. "Quick...the camera!" I say to myself....this is priceless! So with the help of Tati, Amie (7) cooks the pancakes, Nina (9) cooks the eggs and fried potatos, James (11) cuts up the cheese, strawberries and makes the toast while Devin (5) sets the table ever so nicely. They set out the cards they made the day before with a few gifts on display. And after escorting all the dads to their seats for a delicious breakfast, they all get together and sing "We love you daddy's, oh yes we do, we love you daddy's, our love is true, when your not near to us we're blue...Oh daddy's we love you." It was a very touching moment for everyone! I thought it was so sweet that the kids thought of doing something like this all on their own. Needless to say I believe the dad's felt very loved and had a wonderful time! Here's a few pictures.

A Day for Father's

Happy Father's Day to all you Super Dad's out there! I'm blessed to have 3 dad's who are a wonderful help and inspiration to me.....Love you guys and hope you have a wonderful day filled with all those little things that make you happy! And to a very special dad I just want to say, Thanks for always being there for me and Devin, I wouldn't have been able to make it esp. this last year without your help in caring for our son. Your always there to do those "daddy" things with Devin that he likes so much, such as: wrestling, playing computer games, teaching him in the ways of football and basketball and so much more, you make his life just a bit more exciting! And so on this special day we both just want to say "Thanks! And that we appriciate everything you do!" Love you xoxox

Suggested reading

I thought I’d share some things I’ve learned since being sick about health and eating right.

Do you feel like your health and overall well-being needs a little boost? Then I would suggest reading “The Maker’s Diet” by Jordan S. Ruben. He has so many good tips, some of which I’ll include in here. It’s a 40-day diet but something you can follow for the rest of your life if you want. The Maker’s Diet is Biblically based and scientifically proven, it will help you to:
Boost your immune system
Attain and maintain your ideal weight
Have abundant energy
Improve your physical appearance
Reduce stress
Improve digestion
The 40-day diet is divided into three 2-week phases, these three phases are easy to follow, and each features foods that are extremely healthy and delicious.
This plan is designed for results but your success depends significantly on you diligence in following the plan. You may experience moments of discouragement when dealing with a new recipe or when facing a week without your favorite junk food or dessert, but it is WELL worth it to persevere through those times – your future health depends on it. Just ask the Lord to help you, I know you can do it.
The Maker’s Diet is designed to attack the three i’s – insulin, infection, and inflammation. By balancing insulin, you can improve physical, mental, and emotional health, and in turn you balance blood sugar, sharpening concentration and enhancing mood. By reducing infection, you can lessen the toxic burden placed on you body by your daily contact with germs. By lessening inflammation, you can reduce aches and pains and decrease risk factors for diseases such as heart disease and cancer. By attacking these three i’s, you can improve appearance and enhance energy, and you can begin to reverse the process of accelerated aging and live life the way you were meant to live it.
If you want to know more just read the book, you can get it at “Barn’s & Noble”. But I will try to post little tidbits and quotes from the book on here from time to time. Hope you find it helpful!

Riding a bike for the first time. I'm a Proud mom

I don't want to sound like a bragging mom, but I just have to say that Devin is a very talented and smart 5 year old. He has no fear, this is a little "old news" but I didn't get to mention it on my blog soooo, a few weeks ago he decides to try riding Amie's bike, now he's only rode a bike once or twice before this and that was with training wheels on and me helping him, but that day he got on and kept practicing all by himself till him came to get me and said "Mommy look I can ride all by myself!" And so it was my 5 yr.old taught himself how to ride. It was so cute to see him ride around...with a few falls here and there, but he gets right back up and trys again...so brave!

The many faces of Devin

While out on a nature walk Mike was able to capture some of the many faces of Devin.
He's quite the entertainer...no?

Check out the "Do"

Devin's hair is getting so long it gets in his eyes, so today I pulled it up it a half ponytail. Thought it looked kinda snazzy. I do need to do something with it though....so I'll take a poll....TO cut or not to cut...that is the question! Let me know what you think!

The loss of a tooth

Devin showing off his missing tooth

Today Devin lost his first tooth, well it's the second one that's fallen out, the first one was an accident that happened in November last year when Devin was trying to take apart two pieces of lego that were stuck together using his teeth. Needless to say his tooth came out before the lego pieces came apart...Ouch!
His second tooth had been loose for a few weeks and tonight it really looked like it would fall out any minute,so me not having the heart to deal with a situation like that turned to Mike for help, he in turn looked at Devin calmly and said "hold still" and reached in and pulled the tooth out(such a dad).....much to the shock of Devin who was ok at first but when seeing some blood freaks out, runs to the bathroom crying. We get some cotton for him to stop the bleeding and hold him close, telling him everything will be ok. He was fine after that and agreed to "pose" for some pictures. ha! He's not very brave when it comes to blood...poor guy!

Say "cheese"
